After our big day we had more people tell us how fun it was to watch us get married because we were both so giddy. It's true. I bounced the whole way through the ceremony. My young twenty year old face was fresh and supple. I had yet to endure the sleepless nights that motherhood would bring. My young handsome groom was still innocent to the stressors of a career, a mortgage and the weight of supporting his future family of five. In the world's eyes we were crazy. I mean after all we had barely escaped the throws of adolescence when we said I do. We hadn't experienced life so to speak. Well, three kids later and we've experienced a lot of life.
Are we the same people we were eight years ago? No. We've been stretched, grown, and changed. We love each other more, know each other better and have learned how to balance each other's strengths and weaknesses. We are still young and still have much to learn. We have our off days, our buggin' days as my mom calls them. Regardless, every night when our heads hit the pillow and we kiss each other goodnight we are a team.
My prayer for us this anniversary is absolute surrender and obedience to the Lord. He has carried us through these eight years. I pray that He would continue to show us new ways to serve one another. That He would allow us to fall deeper in love with one another as we fall deeper in love with Him. I pray that He would continue to bless us with laughter and that He would give us MANY more years together.
Oh Honey~ I love you all the way to the moon and back, always and forever. Happy Anniversary!
P.S. I wish I had a wedding photo for you all, but I couldn't find the CD to download and I don't know how to scan pictures.
Yay Happy Anniversary!!

ReplyDeleteThis post actually made me cry (a happy cry of course!). I love you too so much and I am so blessed by both of you, and the example you two set for all of us. I hope you have a WONDERFUL time in Chicago. Congratulations, 8 years may not seem like too long, but it is a true testament to your faith :) Love you both and Happy Anniversary!
