Rinse and Repeat

Not gonna lie folks, these summer posts might start to get a little repetitive.  We wake up, suit up, rinse and repeat.

The few morning hours may vary a bit. Like Sunday we went to Grandma and Papa's church to watch cousin Luke be dedicated.

{Juliana was quite the photographer/videographer for the blessed event}

Following church we lunched by the fountain outside of Naked Cafe and then all met up at the Carlsbad Inn for some family pool time. Suit up!

 {floaties might be the best thing that's happened to our family}

I must say, Daddy/Uncle Drake was quite the hit in the water.

Baby boy even busted out his suit...don't you just want to eat him??

While I don't have many words (which might be hard to believe if you know me), my heart is so full. We capped off the night with a slider bar at my parent's and an anxiety filled viewing of watching the stupid brave man who crossed the Grand Canyon on a tight rope as a family.

June gloom has been virtually non-existent this year and we have been soaking up as much sunshine as possible. The older kids are in VBS this week and after I picked them up today we met my brother and sister-in-law back at the pool with some good friends in tow.

Swim suits and towels are draped over patio furniture to dry. Tan lines are emerging and hair is lightening. Appetites are growing and sleep is deep. Rinse and repeat. Summer is here. We are embracing it.

...the livin' is easy...

While life is certainly not easy with three kids, there's something about summer, particularly this one so far that has seemed easier. Enjoyable. Carefree.

Granted we are only a week in  and Lord knows come mid-August I'll be craving routine and the smell of number 2 pencils, but for now...for now we're just enjoying the easy livin'.

Like the slip n' slide and all our meals in the backyard.

Post dinner ice cream, complete with chocolate sauce and sticky fingers.

Yesterday was another backyard day. The pool and slip n' slide were set up by 9:30 and we just went back and forth. Inside, outside. Mac n' cheese, popsicles. Painting nails, playing water guns.

After a day in the sun, Drake and I headed out for a little date night. We checked out a new spot in Leucadia and then went to the Belly Up for music and good times with some friends.

{pre-date silliness with Sammy girl}

Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't share some big news here on the blog...

Drake was traveling this past week and just happened to be having dinner at the same restaurant as...

Kristen Stewart. Bella. I almost died.

Especially since this is what I was doing while he was texting me.

Happy weekend!

Summer Lovin'

Summer is off to a great start.

Can't complain.

Monday we hit up the beach and Tuesday the fair. Juliana was supposed to be dancing...I messed up the time and we completely missed her performance. Good thing she's resilient and forgiving and can be won over with rides and cotton candy...

{mama rode the log ride with them, we were pretty wet}

{"das a big pig"}

 {baby's first time to the fair}

{Relm with one of my favorites}

Today was a low key pool day at Grammy's with friends.

Anticipating more great days ahead.
