Something Happened

My little brother became a daddy.

My sister-in-law became a mommy.

I became an auntie.

She is beautiful and has stolen our hearts.

 Born February 1, 2012, 6 lbs. 15 oz, 20 inches

Rest assured Mark and Jess, you did good.

Swooning grandmas

"Quit bugging me!"

Jessica is an ABSOLUTE ROCKSTAR, she endured 24 hours of unmedicated labor. Way to go Mama!! I have yet to hear her version of the birth story, but I can't wait. I also can't wait to get my hands on her sweet little bundle. My sweet little niece...feels so good to say that word :-).

Oh precious Emily, we have prayed for you, anticipated you and dreamed of you. We can't wait to have tea parties and sleepovers. We love you beautiful girl, happy birthday.

  1. This is precious :) I am so thrilled to have another niece! She is beautiful (as expected) and I can't wait to see her again and hold her! Incredible job Jess, really, you are amazing. When I get to this point in my life you and Lisa will need to coach me and i'll see if I can muster up the endurance to take after both of you. Trent, you are basically destined to be a ladies man. You already are. This trait will be in your favor when you get older because with so many females around you now, you will hopefully figure out how to fend off unnecessary issues with your future wife : ) What a great day and I am so thrilled to have another birthday to celebrate. February 1! Who knew? We love you sweet Emily!

  2. Way to go Jessica - what an amazing labor! 24 hours? Wowzers! She's beautiful - such tiny fingers and toes. The photos are great; love the one with all of you surrounding Jess, and the one with the grandmas! Such an exciting day! Congrats to Auntie Lisa too! In the words of Monica Gellar (Friends episode 1.23 "The One with the Birth") Aunt Lisa will always have gum.

  3. Beth! You make me laugh when I'm at home alone! Yes, Lisa, you must always have gum! And as previously determined, I will always have dogs to come play with.

  4. Once again I am awed by the miracle of birth. When witnessing a birth I have to wonder how anyone could not believe in God our Creator because it is more than I can grasp. I feel so blessed to have been a part of this and to see the drawing together of family. What energy and joy was in that room! Blessed beyond measure is this grandma! Tonight I saw Juliana hold her little cousin. The smile on her face could not be more precious. She could not take her eyes off of the little bundle she felt privileged to hold. A cousin at last and a girl at that! I'm sensing many fun days ahead..Praise be to God as I am truly blessed.
