Oh Christmas Tree

It's Christmastime. My brother Mark and I used to joke that Christmas didn't officially start at our house until mom put on the Neil Diamond Christmas album. Just for kicks I found his version of Santa Clause is Coming to Town on youtube and let the tree decorating begin.

Proper fueling was needed beforehand.

Sister's first year, can't believe it.

Once they got to work their focus was intense.

Everyone helped...

Our tree itself is nothing impressive. We purchased it a couple years ago when Trent had just graduated to toddlerhood and I didn't want the hassle of digging pine needles out of his mouth or the horror of him pulling a giant tree on top of himself. Even though it only stands about as tall as I am to them it's magical. Their own brilliant piece of art adorned with cheap dollar store ornaments and handmade preschool crafts. I smile every time I pass it and see the cluster where Trent focused his decorating energies or the paper plate wreath with Juliana's cherubic three year old face. Yes, it's the perfect tree for our family.

Moving on...the gold shoes. Yes I wore them, actually I rocked them. Drake and I attended a Christmas Gala at The Grand Del Mar (breathtaking!!) for Santa Fe Christian. Such a luxury and a treat to get dressed up with my Honey and enjoy good food, wine and Christmas cheer at such a swanky location.

Even though this week looms long in front of me Cabo is on the horizon (next Tuesday, eeeeek!). Thank you all who prayed for our sick kiddos, despite lingering coughs for the older two they've made excellent recoveries (they certainly feel good enough to bug each other). Time for me to leave you. Katniss Everdeen is engaged to Peeta Mellark and just found out she has to return to the arena (yes I've been sucked into the Hunger Games trilogy). I'm on pins and needles. Happy Monday friends!

  3. Can't wait for Friday ladies!! I'm thinking we'll take a little break from RPatz and feast our eyes on Ryan Reynolds in The Proposal. Not a Christmas movie, but very cozy. It's just fun to get together :-)

  5. I am definitely looking forward to Friday and all the girl stuff as Saturday we will be hosting one of David's friends. He will be staying two nights and he is a little bit hard for me to endure. We are going to the Charger game on Sunday, yes this friend is going too. So the girl thing will have to help me through the weekend. Prayer would be great too! Thanks ladies...

  6. Also I love this post with all the Christmas cheer. Trees decorated by "littles" are my absolute favorites. Perfection is over rated when dealing with Christmas delights. They did a beautiful job. The joy in the decorating is the key!!! Merry Christmas!
