Stomach Flu Blues

It. Is. Friday. HOORAY!!!! In case you live under a rock and didn't know this, there's all kinds of nasty going around right now. Trent and I got hit with the stomach flu. Drake and the girl's seem to have been spared, praise you Jesus.

It started after Samantha's birthday party on Saturday. Trent walked up to me and told me his tummy hurt, I assumed it was because he ate too many sweets. After the third or fourth time I was changing our clothes because we both had throw-up on us I figured out it was more than a sugar overload.  As I held him it felt like he was shrinking in my arms. Poor thing couldn't get comfortable the whole night, my heart just broke for him.

Fast forward early Monday morning...Mama starts go down. I know I've given birth at home, but this bug hit me hard and I was a wimp. At one point I was laying on the shower floor in the fetal position calling out to Drake to come scoop me up and put me on the bed. Let's hope I'm not destined to spend January 16th in pain. It was definitely not how I envisioned spending Sammy's first birthday and I've spent the week recovering.

Wednesday it was time for a little Starbucks and some front yard time.

Juliana told me the best thing about playing in the front yard is that there aren't any toys so she gets to use her imagination. I'm so glad I get to have a front row seat to her life.

Have I mentioned she also loves to be the photographer?

My sweet boy, forever sandwiched between two girls. He'll make a wonderful husband one day, but for now he's all mine.

"Trent who's your best girl?"
"MAMA!"
While I might be his leading lady, I share him. He adores his grandma's, his aunts and especially his big sister.

Then there's this one

Always on the move

And bringing us so much joy!

Despite this being a rocky week (I also have a sinus infection FYI) I think it's gonna be a good weekend. I'm trying out a new recipe, we have a family walk planned, I have a pedicure date with my Julebug and I'm hopeful I might I have new niece before the weekend is over.

Lastly, I'm in love with these pictures.

hot pink skinnies + red sparkly boots = perfection in her world

God bless and happy weekend!

  2. I was hoping to see pictures of you in the aviators ;) Oh well, I guess I'll have to see them in person. Cuties! And I feel like I need to get some pink converse now that I see Jules has them. Pink has always been my favorite color! I actually think I may have had a pair as a kid. I'm so glad the girls and Drake (and everyone at the birthday party!) were spared from the flu! Looking forward to watching The Help! WOOOHOOO! NCLEX is over! Lets indulge in girl time!

  4. Ha!! Pink aviators would be awesome, but no. I bought a pair at Target for a test run. If I like them I might invest in a higher quality pair. I tend to think one either looks utterly ridiculous and incredibly chic in them...trying to decide which category I fall in :)
